Rowdy Boys release date: When and where to watch Ashish, Anupama Parameswaran's Telugu college drama

College dramas are back in vogue in Telugu cinema. Filmmaker Sree Harsha Konuganti, who scored a surprise hit with Hushaaru, is all ready with his second film, Rowdy Boys, a college drama about two warring student groups. The film marks the debut of producer Shirish's son Ashish into the industry, who is paired alongside Premam, Shatamanam Bhavathi actress Anupama Parameswaran. Produced by Dil Raju and Shirish, Rowdy Boys, after multiple postponements, is set to hit theatres on January 14.

The film's protagonist is a happy-go-lucky youngster, who happens to join an engineering college. He has rosy dreams about his college life, be it his stature among peers or his luck with girls. The engineering college students don't get along with the medicine students from a nearby college all that well, resulting in petty, ugly tiffs. To his luck, the male lead also falls in love with a medicine student who's a couple of years older to him. The clashes between two student groups only worsen with time and also affects the protagonist's love life. Where is the story headed?

Devi Sri Prasad has scored the music for the film. Four songs from Rowdy Boys have been released to date, including the title track, a romance number Preme Aakasamaithe, a couple of college dance tracks Brindavanam and Date Night. Big names like Vijay Deverakonda, Jr NTR, Naga Chaitanya and Allu Arjun have come forward to promote the film's promos, songs amongst the public. Sahidev Vikram, Karthik Rathnam, Tej Kurapati, Sai Kamakshi Bhaskarla and Komalee Prasad essay supporting roles.

Leading cinematographer Madhie has cranked the camera for the film whose crew also comprises production designer Rajeevan. A Ramanjaneyulu is the art director of the project while Madhu is the editor. Ram Babu Kongarapi is the co-director with Harshith Reddy being credited as the co-producer. ZEE5 has acquired the streaming rights with ZEE Telugu bagging the satellite rights.
