Ross Geller was a character that got us confused as to whether to like him or not. He was the brother of Monica Geller, has a Ph.D. and it showed in his nerdy character. He also had a very awkward sense of humour. On one hand, he was a very amusing character, someone who tried everything to succeed with his love life, but eventually failed at it, miserably. But, to the defense of everyone he was in a relation with, including Rachel, he was kind of a dork. He was a terrible boyfriend and was pretty whiny, defensive and even arrogant at times. Ross would even lose his cool over the smallest things. David Schwimmer did complete justice to the character of Ross Geller. Here are 7 of Ross’ most memorable moments from the series...
The One With Ross' Sandwich - Season 5, Episode 9
Basically, someone at work ate Ross’ sandwich, and maybe he got a bit over dramatic about it. He was on the brink of divorce with Emily and was recently evicted from his department. He goes on to say that the leftover sandwich, which is now missing, was the only glimmer of hope he had in his life. Later he realises that it was his boss who ate the sandwich, and that was the breaking point for Ross.
The One With all the Resolutions - Season 5, Episode 11
Ross has a weird new year resolution - to try new things everyday. For one, he buys a pair of leather pants for a date night. But the task of wearing those pants was easier said than done. With the use of talcum powder, he pulled up the pants and snuggled on the couch with his date, watching a movie. Soon he started to sweat uncomfortably in his pants and thus, he ran to the bathroom to pull down his pants. Soon enough, he realizes that the pants would not go back up.
The One Where Ross Is Fine - Season 10, Episode 1
Ross said that he was fine with Joey and Rachel in a relationship, but was he though? We all know. His reaction to their short- lived romance was hysterical to say the least. In the opening of the 10th season, Ross catches Joey and Rachel kissing. He assures them that he’s fine with it. He was so fine with it that he invited them for a double date with him and Charlie. But in fact, the date went south very fast.
The One With Unagi - Season 6, Episode 17
In the previous episode, Ross tells Phoebe about taking karate classes, and pronounces it as “Kara-tay”. And in continuation to that, in this episode he mansplains the concept of “Unagi” to Rachel and Phoebe, who have already started taking self defense classes. And they decide to test out who amongst the three has the most ‘Unagi’ and is prepared for an attack.
The One Where They all Turn Thirty - Season 7, Episode 14
One of the classic episodes from the series features flashbacks to the time when each of the friends turned thirty. Ross, on his 30th birthday, buys a slee MG sports car, and he insists that he’s a sports car enthusiast, even though he doesn’t even know what horsepower is. But his decision soon turns out to become a funny series of events as he is not able to get the car out of his parking spot and gets help to lift it out of the tight spot.
The One With Ross' Tan - Season 10, Episode 3
In the third episode of the final season, Ross decides to get himself tanned after seeing Moica get a stellar spray-on tan. But it is Ross, so obviously nothing goes right. He is adamant on being exact and stringent in counting how much time he needs to stay in the spray tanner, leading him to get tanned twice as much as normal. And to make things worse, he tries to even it out on his backside, which also goes very wrong.
The One With Ross' Teeth - Season 6, Episode 8
Being extra is always a thing with Ross, as we saw in the tanning episode. This one takes it to the next level. When Monica sets him up on a date with co-worker Hillary, he decides to whiten his teeth. To make sure his teeth do whiten, he leaves the gel on for a ‘little longer’, which is 9-10 hours in the day. In the end, his teeth turn out to be glowing white (best suited for a toothpaste ad). It gets worse when Hillary suggests they should turn off the lights and Ross’s teeth start to glow in the dark. He tries to defend himself, but it does not end well.
