The makers of Mammootty’s Rorschach have been extremely careful about not revealing much about the movie – not even the megastar’s looks. They stuck to this modus operandi even while unveiling a making video of the film on Saturday, to heighten the anticipation for its trailer.

The making video of the movie, which is scripted by Ibilis and Adventures of Omanakuttan scribe Sameer Abdul, promised a dark and brooding mystery thriller. Most of the glimpses revealed a forest setting during the night, with only shots of Mammootty from behind and against the light.

The trailer of the Nissam Basheer directorial is now set to be released online through Mammootty’s social media page on the megastar’s birthday – September 7, a day before Thiruvonam. This was also the initially planned release date of the film that was then deferred to September 29.

Rorschach, which marks Nissam’s second directorial after Asif Ali’s Kettylaanu Ente Malakha, is also produced by Mammootty under his banner Mammootty Kampany. Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films will be distributing the movie in theatres. Earlier this month, we had reported that the film has signed a deal with movie exhibitors, guaranteeing a minimum run of 50 days in theatres. Whether this will be the window before its OTT release is not yet known.

The film also has Grace Antony, Sharafudheen, Jagadish, Bindu Panicker, Sanju Sivram and Kottayam Nazir in pivotal roles. Midhun Mukundan, who had composed for the Kannada film Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana, is the music director of Rorschach, which has Nimish Ravi as its cinematographer.

Rorschach will clash with Mohanlal and Vyaskh’s investigative thriller Monster, Suresh Gopi and Jibu Jacob’s Mei Hoom Moosa and Nivin Pauly and Rosshan Anddrrews’ Saturday Night, when it hits theatres during the pooja holidays. Mammootty, meanwhile, has also wrapped up shooting for Ranjith’s segment in the Netflix anthology based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s stories.
