Romantic, the Telugu film starring filmmaker Puri Jagannadh's son Akash Puri, Ketika Sharma and Ramya Krishna in key roles, is all set to hit theatres on October 29. The 'romantic' entertainer, helmed by debutant Anil Paduri, began its filming in early 2020. Puri Jagannadh has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues for the film besides bankrolling it in collaboration with actress-turned-producer Charmme Kaur under Puri Connects and Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies. The film was to hit theatres on November 4 initially but had advanced its release plans by a week.
The film's trailer was released by Baahubali actor Prabhas in the previous week. A glimpse into Romantic hints that the plot explores the thin line between love and lust. The on-screen pair is head over heels in love with each other but are in denial mode when they need to give their relationship a label. Ramya Krishna turns an intense, fierce cop for the same, delivering hard-hitting one-liners, impactfully written by Puri Jagannadh. The romance between the lead couple is raw and the characters have no inhibitions in expressing their innermost desires.
Actor Vijay Deverakonda was the chief guest at the film's pre-release event held at Warangal, where he wished the best for the Romantic team. Puri Jagannadh, talking about the film, shared, "Romantic is a full-fledged entertainer. I have watched the film multiple times recently. I really enjoyed the second half and the climax in particular. Anil Paduri, the director, didn't show any nerves while executing the film. I'll be grateful to Ramya Krishna for accepting the role in Romantic and she added great value with her performance. Sunil Kashyap's music is terrific as usual."
"I can safely say that my son (Akash) is a wonderful actor. As a school-going kid, he used to ask me everyday for an opportunity to act in my film. He started as a child actor with Bujjigadu and now, he's a lead in Romantic. Ketika Sharma is more than a glam-doll, is a good actor and sings quite well too. I must thank Charmme for being a constant source of support and handling all production matters with such diligence," Puri added.
Romantic is edited by Junaid Siddiqui while Naresh Rana has cranked the camera.
