The team had wrapped up the shoot of the film last year. Incidentally, after both Prithviraj and Indrajith withdrew from the project, citing scheduling conflicts, the team had also roped in Shine Tom Chacko. But the latter too had to opt out due to date clashes with his other projects, and this led to Binu Pappu being offered his character.
Irshad, who had assisted Prithviraj in the latter’s directorial debut Lucifer and had also shot an advertisement with the actor right after the first lockdown, is screenwriter, director and lyricist Muhsin Parari’s brother. Muhsin is co-producing Ayalvaashi with Ashiq Usman. Jakes Bejoy will be composing for the movie, which is set to be an Eid release on April 21.
Irshad had earlier said that the movie has a “very local and rooted” story about “real” people. While sharing the first look poster of Ayalvaashi, he captioned it, “Laughter and fun with a tint of drama. Here’s the first look poster of Ayalvaashi preparing for a jolly good ride.”

Apart from Soubin, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi, Lal Jr, Deepak Parambol, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Arun Kurian, Khalid Rahman, Chandu Salimkumar and Vishnu Reghu are also part of its cast.
