Rohit Shetty gives an update on Ajay Devgn starrer Singham 3 and Golmaal 5

Rohit Shetty is currently riding high on the success of his latest directorial, Sooryavanshi. The film, featuring Akshay Kumar in the titular role, is nearing the Rs 200 crore mark at the domestic box office. The filmmaker waited two years for the release of Sooryavanshi, and now fans are awaiting word on the next instalment of Golmaal. Talking about the same, Shetty confirmed the fifth instalment and revealed that Golmaal is a never-ending franchise.

The director told Bollywood Life that Golmaal 5 is going to take place. As he previously stated, lockdowns and the release of Sooryavanshi took two years to complete. However, Shetty added that Golmaal is a never-ending story.

Moreover, the Simmba helmer was also asked if Singham 3 would be based on Article 370. To which the filmmaker shared that he has heard that the story is out, even though he has no idea what it is that Singham 3 is being created on Article 370, which he also has no idea about. 

Shetty added that they have a basic plot idea, but he understands that the reports are coming out as a result of Sooryavanshi's fury, and therefore, everyone is talking about Singham. However, the director added that there is still plenty of time as Singham 3 has at least a year until it begins. He revealed that the film won't begin for at least a year, and now there is plenty of time.

Meanwhile, Shetty's upcoming directorial is Cirkus, which is based on the Shakespearean play The Comedy of Errors. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. Cirkus features Ranveer and Varun in double roles and was shot entirely during the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is slated for release on July 15, 2022.
