Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani box office prediction: Big opening expected for the Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, is all set to release in theatres on July 28. The film, directed by Karan Johar, is a romantic comedy family drama that revolves around two lovers from different cultural backgrounds who decide to get married.

The film has generated a lot of buzz among the audiences, thanks to the star power of Alia and Ranveer, who are reuniting after their hit film Gully Boy. The film also marks the comeback of Karan Johar as a director after seven years. The film also features veteran actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles.

According to trade analysts, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is expected to open big at the box office and could collect around 8-10 crore on its first day and Rs 30-35 crore on its first weekend. The film is releasing on a Wednesday, which is a national holiday on account of Eid al-Adha. The film could benefit from the festive mood and the positive word of mouth.

The film is also expected to perform well overseas, especially in markets like the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and UAE, where Alia and Ranveer have a huge fan following.

The advance sale for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani started on July 24. By July 26, 2023, 31,000 tickets had been sold. Leading multiplex chain in PVR, with annual ticket sales of about 17,000 units. Inox and Cinepolis came next, selling about 9,000 and 5,000 tickets each. Prior to its debut, it's anticipated that the Ranveer-Alia movie will sell between 60 and 75 thousand tickets in advance.

The film has received positive reviews from the critics who have watched it earlier. They have praised the film for its entertaining story, brilliant performances and colourful visuals. The film has also received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with no cuts.

A full-fledged family drama based in Delhi, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani tells the story of two families who come from very different cultural backgrounds and share nothing in common with one another—not even rudimentary English language skills.
