The romantic comedy Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, directed by Karan Johar and is currently in its eighth day of release. The movie, which tells the love story of a Bengali girl from a different upbringing and a Punjabi boy from a different background, made Rs 6.25 crore on Thursday, bringing its total domestic earnings to Rs 73.33 crore.

The film got a thumbs up from both, critics and audience for the performances by the lead actors', Ranveer-Alia's on-screen chemistry, the performances of veteran actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi, as well as the music by Pritam. The movie also delivers a potent social message about embracing difference and shattering preconceptions.

Additionally, Barbie and Oppenheimer, two Hollywood blockbusters that were released on the same day, were surpassed by Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

Greta Gerwig's dream comedy Barbie, in which Margot Robbie plays the iconic doll, has already made Rs 38.45 crore in India. In addition to receiving accolades for its feminist critique of consumerism and patriarchy, the movie has come under fire for its inaccurate depiction of Barbie's life in the real world.

On the other hand, The Manhattan Project's chief physicist is portrayed by Cillian Murphy in Christopher Nolan's epic biographical drama Oppenheimer, which has so far made Rs 102.70 crore in India. While the movie has received praise for its technical mastery and historical authenticity, it has also drawn criticism for being too long and complicated.

Well, RARKPK is a proof that Indian moviegoers still like Bollywood films that offer a blend of romance, comedy, drama, and music. The movie also shows that Karan Johar, who continues to be one of the most well-known and prominent directors in the nation, is able to draw audiences from all demographics with his own style of storytelling.
