According to The US Sun, the acclaimed Academy Award-winning actor, Robert De Niro will be reprising his role in Taxi Driver for an upcoming Uber advertisement. At 80 years old, he will be reciting his famous line, 'You talking to me,' as part of the advertisement campaign. De Niro has previously appeared in commercials for Warburton's Bread and the Kia Nero Car. Even though Taxi Driver has a New York backdrop, the ad film will be shot in London. It is said that De Niro is forced to appear in commercials and ads at this time of his career because of the recent expensive divorce.
In 2018, the actor was in the midst of a divorce from his second wife, Grace Hightower. According to the actor's attorney, he had to take on additional work to cover the costs of the expensive divorce settlement and alimony payments. De Niro and Hightower were together for 20 years, with a previous divorce in 2003 and a subsequent remarriage.
Taxi Driver is a psychological crime drama helmed by Martin Scorsese. The plot focuses on a war veteran named Travis Bickle, who works night shifts as a taxi driver due to his insomnia. As he starts to become more involved in the nightlife, Travis meets a girl named Betsy, and despite being a bit unconventional, she seems to be interested in him. However, when Betsy rejects him, Travis becomes increasingly isolated. Taxi Driver is the second film of Robert Deniro with Martin Scorsese after Mean Streets. Later, they united in almost ten feature films, including Raging Bull, Goodfellas and The Irishman. De Niro will be also seen in Scorsese's upcoming western epic drama, Killers of the Flower Moon due in cinemas on October 20.
