RJ Balaji's latest outing, Veetla Vishesham, has been running successfully in theatres over the third week. The film, which hit screens on June 17, is a remake of the Hindi hit, Badhaai Ho. RJ Balaji dropped a video on his social media handle thanking the audience for making the film, a huge success.
Captioning the video, "Thank you for all your love on #VeetlaVishesham !!! ❤️#OverAndOut #SeeYouSoon ✋ (sic), Balaji said, " For the last few weeks, you would have felt my constant presence on TV and phone. Despite that you all went to the theatres and saw my film, Veetla Vishesham as well. You have made it a happy memory for all of us and I owe you all a huge thank you. I love you so much."
Talking about how the film was conceived more than a year ago, Balaji said, "One and a half years ago, when we had started the film with a lot of energy and enthusiasm, all we wanted was to make this film, with utmost honesty and integrity. Today, we are satsifed that we have given you a good piece of work. Those who put their money in it, have made profit; those who watched it, like the film. What else do we need? We have entered the third week and the film is still running. Thank you for making the film a big success. I will now take a break. When you all wonder where this guy has gone missing, I will come back with a good announcement, " he said.
The Hindi version of the film, directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Neena Gupta, Gajaraj Rao and Surekha Sikhri. The Tamil version featured RJ Balaji, Aparna Balamurali, Sathyaraj, Urvashi and KPAC Lalitha. The film was directed by RJ Balaji along with NJ Saravanan.The plot revolves around a middle-aged couple who get pregnant much to the chagrin of their grown-up sons. The film tries to break the stigma around woman who decide to have a baby in their later years.
