Rishi's next in Telugu is period drama along with Faria Abdullah & Thiruveer

Actor Rishi sprung a big surprise on everyone with his edgy and violent role as Bali in Shaitan, the Telugu crime web series which also marked his Telugu debut. One saw the performance as a major departure for the actor from the kind of characters he had played in the past, meaning that he was willing to experiment with his choices in order to keep the fire in him burning. And in this vein, Rishi has signed another interesting-look Telugu project which also stars enterprising actors like Faria Abdullah and Thiruveer.

The untitled project was formally launched earlier today, on the auspicious occasion of Dasara. With Gopi G making his directorial debut and the combination of Ravi Panasa & Asian Cinemas backing the film, the film was kicked off amid the presence of the core cast and crew with Telugu filmmaker Venu Udugula directing the customary first shot and BRS party leader Dasoju Shravan doing the honours with the clapboard. 

According to a Telugu media outlet, the said project will be an interesting blend of genres and is currently being described as a romantic period drama that has undertones of politics and action. Regardless, one does see this to be an exciting venture for Rishi and the rest of the cast. While Dasara was chosen as the opportune time to launch the film, the shooting is expected to begin on October 25th, Wednesday.

Faria Abdullah, who rose to prominence with her role as Chitti in her debut project Jathi Rathnalu, is regarded as one of the most promising actors of the new lot. Since her debut, she has starred in varied kinds of projects including the commercial actioner Ravanasura (starring Ravi Teja) and the TV series The Jengaburu Curse, wherein she played the central role. Thiruveer, on the other hand, is best known for his roles in films like George Reddy, Masooda and Pareshan.

Coming back to Rishi, the actor currently has Kannada films Ramana Avatara, Sakalakala Vallabha and Seere up for release.
