The inaugural OTTplay Changemakers Awards 2023 brought together some of the best artistes in the country in an evening that celebrated the disruptors and pathbreakers in their respective fields. From Kantara actor-director Rishab Shetty and Iratta and Pada actor Joju George to Badhaai Do and Monica, O My Darling star Rajkummar Rao and Minnal Murali director Basil Joseph, some of the best in the business turned up at the event in Mumbai on March 26.
One of the highlights was the four actors posing together along with veteran Bollywood star Gulshan Grover for a groupfie that oozed ‘class and mass’ at the event. Joju and Rishab were seated together at the event; Basil, who was on another table, joined them to exchange pleasantries.
As soon as Rajkummar arrived, he spotted the trio and went to their table. The Bollywood star had earlier admitted that he was a huge fan of Joju’s performance in Martin Prakkat’s Nayattu and was glad to meet the actor in person. Gulshan Grover, who was there as a presenter, joined the quartet and posted for a groupfie with Basil taking charge.

In his winning speech too, Rajkummar mentioned the talented actors that were present at the event and at the winner’s lounge too, where he rubbed shoulders with Basil again, he reminded the Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey actor to ensure that he sends him the photo, for memory’s sake.
The evening made for several high moments for the celebs too, with friends Rishab and Joju getting to meet each other after a long time. In fact, Rishab had presented the award to the Malayalam star for the Disruptive Star of the Year (Male). The Kantara actor, himself, had bagged the award for Gamechanger of the Year, while Rajkummar and Basil took home the honours for Pathbreaking Performer of the Year (Male) and Inspiring Filmmaker of the Year, respectively.
