Legendary singer-composer Bappi Lahiri left us all today at the age of 69. According to the doctors, the iconic musician who breathed his last at a Mumbai hospital died following several multiple health issues.
Famous by the name of Disco King, he was often called Bappi Da by the film fraternity. Born in Calcutta in the year 1952, he started his career as a music director-composer at the age of 19. The Indian film industry is shaken by the news of his sudden demise. Along with the actors, musicians poured in with their tributes to the legend and condolences on the family on social media sites.
Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn shared a heartfelt note on Twitter and wrote, "Bappi Da was so endearing in person. But, his music had an edge. He introduced a more contemporary style to Hindi film music with Chalte Chalte, Suraksha & Disco Dancer. 🕉 Shanti Dada You will be missed (sic)."
Ace Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh also tweeted about the former singer and shared his condolences to the family. "Sad news of the passing away of legendary musician #BappiLahiri ji he will be fondly remembered for his mesmerising musical compositions which are loved by people of all ages," a part of the post reads.
