In 2003, Rimi Sen became a popular name with her debut movie, Hungama, and was nominated for Filmfare best debutant female.

The actor is also known for her association with several successful films like Baghban, Dhoom, Garam Masala, Phir Hera Pheri, Golmaal and many more. Soon after, with back-to-back box office disasters, Sen almost disappeared from the scene.

She is now planning her comeback with a music video directed by producer Prernaa Arora (Padman, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Rustom, Pari).

In a recent conversation with ETimes, Sen spoke about why she had been away from the film industry. “I tried so many things, different kinds of movies, but I never could achieve that creative satisfaction which I was looking for all this while (sic).”

Sen also added that she never worked for money. Rather she always wanted to work for creative satisfaction and while she was busy making her mark with big banners and eminent co-stars, she missed out on her opportunity to perform which she admits was a wrong move.

Sen made her debut with the Telugu movie Nee Thodu Kavali and her Hindi film journey kicked off with Akshaye Khanna, Paresh Rawal starrer comedy Hungama. After a series of failures, she went on to produce Budhia Singh- Born to Run in 2015 which managed to bag the title of Best Children’s Film at the 63rdNational Film Awards.

And in between, she took a mini-sabbatical and started approaching directors like Sriram Raghavan and others. She did films like Johnny Gaddar and Sankat City but both of them crashed at the box office.

Talking about her future endeavors Sen added, “Again I am taking my own sweet little time and we are working on a couple of web series. Probably, the work will start this year but it's only after I met Prerna Arora, I thought of coming back to this industry. I trust her as a friend, as a producer and I trust her as someone who knows me, what I want in life. That's why I chose to come back with this music video, only because of Prerna (sic).”

More details of the music video are awaited. ETimes writes that the duo is currently busy planning the music video and the shooting is going to start on April 12.
