Ridhima Ghosh: Since Anjanda is also a fabulous actor, he knows what an actor wants

Ridhima Ghosh has been a fan of Anjan Dutta since her childhood and she always wanted to work with him. Finally, she is working with him on Zee5’s web series Seven. Along with her, the thriller also features Gaurav Chakrabarty, Suprobhat, Ankita Chakraborty, Rahul Arunodoy Banerjee, Sujan Mukhopadhyay, and Anjan. The series will be dropped on March 17.  

Talking about her experience of working with Anjan, Ridhima said, “We grew up watching his work – probably since Bong Connection. And before that, it was his music that made us his blind fans. I have always wanted to work with him and here I am today.”

The actress also elaborated on Anjan’s mode of work as a director. She pointed out that Anjan is extremely passionate about the work he is in. “He constantly thinks and talks about the characters, shots, etc. Even while talking with us, he says things about the characters. Without even realising it, that constant conversation with him helps us a lot. I have never worked with a director as involved and passionate as Anjanda is,” Ridhima said. 

Anjan gives time for the actors to do the basic preparation and according to Ridhima, he never rushes. “It is like a luxury to work with Anjanda. He doesn’t put pressure and since he is a world-class actor, he always understands what actors want,” she said.

We get to see a lot of hill stations, especially Darjeeling in Anjan’s work. Is Seven different in any way? Ridhima identified that the misty pine forest and North Bengal is the signature style of Anjan. “There are certain things that define him. For us, his signatures give us the comfort of familiarity. It is also nostalgic for us to follow him through the ideas that are part of our childhood memory,” said the actress.
