Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal ventured into production with a film called Girls Will Be Girls. The movie was recently released on Amazon Prime Video. After its premiere at film festivals, Girls Will Be Girls dropped on streaming to reach wider audiences. When her film's trailer was released on YouTube, many people remarked that 'mainstream Bollywood' would never consider a subject like it. Reacting to this, Richa called Bollywood 'imaginary'.

Sharing her thoughts about Bollywood, Richa Chadha said it is not restricted to a real geographical location. "I feel Bollywood itself is very imaginary. Fifteen families between Bandra and Goregaon think of themselves as Bollywood. But actually, it's not a real geographical location. It's the Hindi film industry, and that keeps changing and evolving. It keeps including new people," shared Richa.

Talking about her film Girls Will Be Girls, Richa spoke about the lack of support from finances. The actress recalled when they reached out to different people, they realized that everyone wanted to make their money back. "It's an investment," said Chadha.

She further mentioned that when big films with A-listers are made, the finances know something will come back. "Here (with films like Girls Will Be Girls), you don't know the fate of the film," she added. Despite that, Richa is happy to have backed the project. The actress mentioned that an OTT giant becoming a home for her film is a sign that things are changing.
