The protest movements across Bengal over the heinous rape and murder incident at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital have not been doused. From celebrities to common people and members of civic society — people from different walks of life took to the street to demand justice for the victim. On Monday, there was a hearing at the Supreme Court. The next hearing of the RG Kar incident is set for September 17. Will the Tollywood artists protest in the interim period? Will the movement go on?

From film personalities to musicians and others — everyone opined that the movement must go on because justice would not be delivered on time if there was no pressure. In an interview with Anandabazar Online, Lopamudra said, “The trial of the heinous incident can't be done quickly. We need to be patient.” If you protest, you can't concentrate on your profession. Is that a problem? The singer admitted it. “The known faces are suffering, but the new generation suffers more.” She said that she canceled some of her gigs. Her students asked her how they could survive if the programs were canceled.

Lopamudra advised that work and protest should go on. The Court ordered the doctors to return to work. Lopamudra thinks that relay demonstrations will keep the movement going and no person will be deprived of treatment.

Meanwhile, director Kamaleswar Mukherjee shared, “Some trials should be on the fast track. This trial will be like that, as I hoped. I feel bad that it didn't happen.” He thinks it is better if the Puja does not happen this year. Justice is more important and no person is in the festive mood. What about the movement? He said, “There is no alternative. The city has shown it. Everybody is heated up. We have to keep the fire on.”

Riddhima Ghosh and Gourab Chakraborty's Puja were supposed to be amazing with their kid Dheer. But the situation changed. Riddhima said 'We worship a goddess. On one hand, we welcome her and on the other, we insult women. This thought is disheartening.' She thinks that Puja should happen but no celebration should be there. Puja is a source of income for many people and that should not be stopped. But she also believes in the movement. She believes that the victim will get justice.

Every year, Puja is held at Sudeepa Chatterjee's place. She said 'I can't stop it since this is a family tradition. But we will not have a feast for the invited people this year. The pandal will also be smaller.' She is praying to God every day for justice.
