The censor report from the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has revealed a slew of new but shocking details about the upcoming Hindi movie Animal, which stars Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role.

The UK censor board has approved the movie with an 18 rating, urging strong discretion for viewers, while making it not suitable for audiences younger than 18 years of age.

The BBFC, in its rating system, has awarded Animal a full score in the category of "violence," outlining specific details about extremely violent scenes, such as a man using "a knife to saw at another's throat" and "a frenzied stabbing."

Based on the international censor board report, Animal has a slew of scenes depicting violence against women. "There are several scenes of domestic abuse in which men strike, humiliate, coerce and manipulate women and children," said the censor report.

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga appears to have portrayed various forms of violence, including verbal and physical, without restraint. The report mentions that the film's dialogue is laden with expletives, earning it four points in the censor's rating system.

Animal also seems to feature a strong depiction of sexual violence. "A bloodied murderer lies on top of his new wife in front of wedding guests. It is implied that he means to rape another woman. A man has sex with a woman as a ruse to make her fall in love with him, following which he humiliates her," reads the censor report, which describes Animal as "strong bloody violence."

The film has also been cleared by the censor board in India with an 'A' certificate, making it suitable for adults only.

Animal marks Sandeep's second outing in Bollywood after Kabir Singh, which was the remake of his Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy.

Besides Ranbir, Animal also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Tripti Dimri. The film is due in cinemas on December 1.
