Actress Kirti Kulhari, who was last seen in the short film The List, as well as much talked-about web series Four More Shots Please Season 3, is all set for her next release — Rest Of The Night. This is a short film that will release on Disney+ Hotstar on December 10. Kirti will be seen alongside Vishwas Kini in the short.
Written and directed by Prayrit Seth, the short features Kirti as a woman stuck in a house during the COVID-19 lockdown, battling loneliness and insomnia while longing for closure.
Kirti not only plays the female protagonist, but has also co-produced the project under her banner, Kintsukuroi Films. Interestingly, the film has been shot in black-and-white by cinematographer Prashant Dandekar to project the reality of the protagonist in an artistic manner.
Talking about the film, Kirti said, "Rest Of The Night is about being stuck mentally and emotionally. It’s about relationships and how they give us so much, but also take away so much."
Elaborating on the essence of the story, the actress said that the story captures the emotional nuances of a woman who is unable to move on and find closure. "The film emphasises on the need to take care of one’s mental health and how it’s important to express and share your emotions," she also added.
Speaking about her character in the film, Kirti said, "It’s a complex character and I love playing such roles." She also added that as an actress, she is on a constant search to push the envelope and to find a deeper meaning in her performances.
Starting her career in film with Khichdi: The Movie, Kirti is known for her acting in films like Jal, Pink, Indu Sarkar, Blackmail and Mission Mangal. She has also starred in web series like Bard of Blood, Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors and Human, to name a few.
