Rekhachithram OTT partner - Here is where Asif Ali-Anaswara Rajan’s film is likely to stream after its theatrical run

Rekhachithram, starring Asif Ali, entered the Rs 50-crore club, emerging to be the first blockbuster from Malayalam in 2025. The Jofin T Chacko directorial, which features Anaswara Rajan in a key role, is getting much love from audiences in Kerala. In the latest update, the OTT rights of the film have been reportedly bagged by SonyLiv.

Rekhachithram, which released in theatres on January 9, 2025, opened to largely positive reviews. The unique plot and stellar performances have won over the audiences. As the film set the box office ringing, discussions are also on its OTT partner. Industry trackers have said on Twitter that the film’s rights have been bagged by SonyLiv, which has also reportedly acquired Marco's digital rights. However, it is yet to be confirmed by the platform or the Rekhachithram team. The film is likely to head to OTT space after completing its theatrical run. If the film is released on SonyLiv, the subscribers of OTTplay Premium will also be able to watch the mystery thriller.

Rekhachithram is currently running in theatres and is seeing decent occupancy even as it enters its third weekend at the box office. The other recent major release is Dominic and the Ladies Purse, which stars Mammootty in the lead role. The film, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, opened to mixed reviews.

Rekhachithram plot and cast

Rekhachithram is Jofin T. Chacko’s second directorial venture after the Mammootty-starrer The Priest. The director attempts to narrate the story of his 2025 film with an alternative take on history. The film revolves around the case of a woman, who went missing during the filming of Mammootty-starrer Kaathodu Kaathoram in 1985.

Apart from Asif Ali and Anaswara Rajan, the film also features Manoj K Jayan, Siddique, Jagadish, Harisree Ashokan, Indrans and Saikumar.

Rekhachithram is Asif Ali's first release of the year. Anaswara, on the other hand, was also part of Ennu Swantham Punyalan, which released on January 10. The film also starred Arjun Ashokan and Balu Varghese. The young actress also has Painkili with Sajin Gopu, which is slated to release in theatres in February 2025.
