Rekhachithram, the highly anticipated Malayalam film, which stars Asif Ali and Anaswara Rajan in the lead roles, is gearing up for a January 2025 release. The movie, helmed by The Priest fame director Jofin T Chacko, has been winning the internet with its highly promising official trailer, which was released recently. In a recent interview, the young filmmaker, who opened up about Rekhachithram, made some interesting revelations about the film’s genre.

Rekhachithram is not a thriller, says Jofin T Chacko

Jofin T Chacko, who opened up about his ambitious project in a recent interview, revealed that Rekhachithram is not a thriller. According to the young filmmaker, the Asif Ali starrer is an investigation drama, which will not go in the ‘whodunit’ way. Interestingly, the movie will convey the nature of its core incident, and the people who caused it, right at its beginning. Later, it is the investigation, led by the character played by Asif Ali, that takes Rekhachithram forward.

However, Jofin T Chacko confirmed that the much-awaited film is not an off-beat film. According to the filmmaker, Rekhachithram has all the right commercial elements that make it an edge of the seat watch, even though it does not belong to the crime thriller genre. From the highly promising trailer of Asif Ali and Anaswara Rajan’s film which was released recently, it is safe to assume that the film narrates a unique investigation story that connects two different eras.

All about Rekhachithram

Asif Ali plays the role of a young police officer in the film, which stars Anaswara Rajan as a mysterious woman who becomes the prime part of an investigation. Rekhachithram features a massive star cast, including Manoj K Jayan, Zarin Shihab, Siddique, Bhama Arun, Megha Thomas, Jagadish, Nishanth Sagar, Indrans, Harisree Ashokan, Priyanka, Nandu, Unni Lalu, Shaheen Siddique, TG Ravi, Sreejith Ravi, Sudhy Koppa, Srikanth Murali, Vijay Menon, Shaju Sreedhar, Sanju Sanchien, Anuroop Jayashankar, Dileep Menon, and Pauly Valsan, in the supporting roles.

Rekhachithram is scripted by John Manthrickal and Ramu Sunil. Mujeeb Majeed composes the music score. Appu Prabhakar is the director of photography. Shameer Muhammad handles the editing. Shibu G Suseelan handles the production design. The movie is produced by Venu Kunnappilly, under the banner Kavya Film Company.
