Municipal elections are around the corner in Tadipatri and the tension between the competitors has reached stratospheric levels. There’s a plan to murder the municipal chairman and all key arrangements to execute the crime are being readied. In a battle between four wolves and one tiger, who’ll emerge triumphant? Recce, ZEE5’s next Telugu show, premieres on June 17.
An engrossing trailer of the show starring Srikanth, Sivabalaji, Ester Noronha, Dhanya Balakrishna, Rajashree Nair, Saranya Pradeep and Aadukalam Naren was launched by Ram Gopal Varma today. Srikanth plays a cop who’s obsessed with a criminal’s plan to kill a rural leader ahead of local elections and works against time to do his duty.
The first aspect that grabs your attention immediately after watching the trailer is its cinematography by Ram. K. Mahesh. There’s an earthiness and a distinct colour tone to establish the crime scene and the slick edits make the wait for June 17 already long. With its stellar cast, one could expect a bunch of intense, strong characters battling different traumas in their lives.
The seven-episode long show, written and directed by Poluru Krishna, brings together fine performers who deserve more limelight and relies on a solid script to do the talking. ZEE5 is consistently pulling off casting coups, be it their earlier show Gaalivaana or now with Recce - interestingly, both the shows are thriller set in different backdrops.
Produced by Sri Ram Kolishetti under Silver Screen Productions, the show has music by Sriram Maddury and is edited by Kumar. P. Anil. Rambabu is the action choreographer and Srikanth Poluru is the executive producer. Ramaraju, Thotapalli Madhu, Sameer, Sammeta Gandhi, Krishna Kanth, Swami Naidu and Prabhavathi form the supporting cast.
