Rebel Moon – The latest sci-fi echoes Zack Snyder's lifelong adoration for 1977’s Star Wars

What did director Zack Snyder reveal?

Last month in a special interview with Entertainment Weekly, Zack Snyder disclosed a lot of things about his dreams, his admirations, his immense love for Star Wars, how in DC films, superheroes working together as a team inspired him, and why Sofia Boutella was his first and obvious choice for the role of Kora.

How Star Wars inspired Zack Snyder?

Zack Snyder shared that 1977’s Star Wars is like a seminal film for him. It literally inspired him to make movies. The transportation to other galaxies motivated him to make stop action animation films with his special collections of Star Wars figures in the fall of 1977. “I would say from then I was pretty much interested in making my own sci-fi films”, Snyder said.

Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire’s trailer starts with Kora, a girl who used to live on a broken spaceship, being peaceful. But then, a scary ship arrives with a bad guy named Noble who wants power. He wants to hurt the nice people living on the farm. Now, Kora along with peaceful farmers must fight Noble's evil army in a huge battle with lots of action and exciting fights.

Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire release date

You can watch the first part of Rebel Moon: A Child of Fire on Netflix starting December 21 at 7pm PT. The rest of the world gets it a day later, on December 22. The second part, The Scargiver, will arrive on April 19, 2024.
