The anticipation for what Zack Snyder has to offer next with Rebel Moon Part 1 – A Child Of Fire is at its peak. It is not just the fans of the material but also the filmmaker and his now scrapped SnyderVerse that are promoting the movie in full power. The internet is busy debating whether DCU is at a loss by showing Snyder the door or not. Amid this, the release of Rebel Moon is inching closer on Netflix, and that means the premieres have begun. Now we have the first reactions on the same flowing in.
Rebel Moon UK Premiere
Rebel Moon Part 1 has now been premiered in the UK and turns out the reactions from the same have now hit the internet. A bunch of critics have shared what they felt watching the Seven Samurai-inspired Magnum Opus that has been shaped by Zack Snyder. While there are majority of praise for the filmmaker’s vision there is also a section that says the movie suffers the Curse Of The Second Half. Many have applauded the build-up and slow-burning pace of the film.
Molly Edwards of Total Films in her review on X (formerly called Twitter) wrote, “Okay #RebelMoon is quite simply epic! Massive scale, beautiful visuals (of course), awesome action, and some really fascinating mythology. There’s lots of exciting set-up for what’s to come, but it’s still very satisfying as its own movie. Jimmy has also stolen my heart.”
An excerpt from the handle TomMCJL read, “REBELS, GEAR UP! Zack Snyder's #RebelMoon - Part One: A Child On Fire delivers & serves a triumphant welcome to a whole new & promising universe while featuring some of my favourite Zack Snyder moments to date. (+ a rivettingly badass, kickass, third act). It's big, grand, epic & thriving with mythology, of which we only scratch the surface on here as so much feels yet to be uncovered. Snyder throws heavy love to his own 300 [2007] with the action atop sci-fi & fantasy movies of the past with his ambition for the story & world.
Some people also had a few problems. In her review a handle named Amanda wrote, “The Bad: Things move too fast, too much narration giving exposition to compensate the shorter theatrical version. Characters are unusually in the exact right moment for them to be offered a chance to join what is technically just a group of strangers perpetually outnumbered.”
