Amid all the MCU and DCU updates and the chaos that is happening at both studios, is a Zack Snyder movie that is fast gearing up for its release on Netflix . Rebel Moon is one of the most anticipated movies across the globe, and there is a whole lot to be excited about. But turns out Snyder has another pointer to add to the excitement list by revealing that there will be a director’s cut for Rebel Moon as well. And if that isn’t enough, he has even revealed the massive runtime that will be added to the Netflix version of the movie.
Zack Snyder's Obsession With Director's Cut
For the ones who aren’t familiar with Zack’s style of filmmaking, the filmmaker is known for his world-building and lengthy movies that are then edited to fit a suitable runtime. This leads to the filmmaker most of the time, having a director’s cut of his movies. Giving rise to an alternate culture, he even released the Snyder Cut Of Justice League in 2021 after fans across the globe initiated a movement to ask for it.
Turns out Zack Snyder is in no mood to change his filmmaking style because he has a director’s cut already done for Rebel Moon. And to add more to the surprise, his director’s cut adds an hour more to the Netflix runtime and will have massive chunks that will be missing from the main release.
Here's What Zack Snyder Said
As per Comicbook, Zack Snyder spoke about the same and also gave details on what will be added. "It's a full hour longer," Snyder revealed. "It's not just slightly different or a little bit more. There are big chunks of the movie that are different. A lot more stuff is fleshed out."
He was joined by producer Wesley Coller, who added, "Zack Snyder is a world-builder. He loves the layering of a world and, the details of a story, and the nuances of a character. His process always has him doing so much exploring what's under the hood, not just what we see on screen. Having the opportunity to take this fresh idea and build all of that out, asking this question over here and finding the answer to that over there, was the most exciting part to him."
