The trailer of RDX starring Shane Nigam, Antony Varghese, and Neeraj Madhav in lead roles has been released. The film is an action-drama, helmed by the debutant Nahas Hidayath. The posters and teaser released earlier had hinted at an action film and the trailer filled with action scenes confirms the same.
According to the trailer, RDX follows the story of three friends named Robert, Dony, and Xavier and the events that occur in their lives. The three of them who are well-trained in martial arts keep jumping into intense altercations. The Cochin Carnival is shown as an integral part of their lives, with some of their fights taking place against its backdrop. The trailer hints at two timelines, with the three lead heroes appearing in different looks. The trio, who were hot-headed in their youth, are forced to confront trouble in their mature phase also after one of their families is threatened by a group.
The trailer is packed with intense fight scenes and suggests that it will be an action-packed movie similar to recent hits like Thallumaala and Ajagajantharam. The trailer also features veteran actor Babu Antony as a martial arts teacher which is sure to evoke nostalgic memories in the minds of viewers as the actor is known for his stunt performances in the old films. Shane Nigam who had a grievance regarding his character not getting prominence in the film during its making has a romantic track in the trailer.
RDX features Mahima Nambiar, Baiju Santhosh, Lal, Aima Sebastian and Mala Paravathy in supporting roles. Scripted by the director himself, the film is produced by Weekend Blockbusters known for Minnal Murali. The producer Sophia Paul had earlier said that the action scenes of RDX are never attempted in Malayalam cinema before. Anbariv, who worked as the stunt choreographer in KGF and Kaithi will be handling the action scenes in RDX. The film is expected to hit theatres on August 25 as an Onam release.
