Disney’s latest animated movie, Raya and the Last Dragon will be available to stream in India on Disney+ Hotstar from June 4. The movie was released in theatres across the globe about three months back.
The movie is currently available on Disney+ with Premier Access. Premier Access involves a Rs. 2,175 fee on top of the Disney+ monthly subscription. Unfortunately, Premier Access is only available for select markets and is not yet available on Disney+ Hotstar. The movie will only start streaming in India once it leaves Premier Access on Disney+, on June 4.
The movie leaving Premier Access will also make it available for normal Disney+ subscribers across the world. This is not the first time that Disney has kept a long gap between releasing shows or movies on Disney+ Premier Access and Disney+ Hotstar. Disney’s live-action version of Mulan arrived on Disney+ Hotstar on December 4, exactly three months after its release on September 4.
Raya and the Last Dragon has been directed by Don Hall (Big Hero 6) and Carlos López Estrada (Blindspotting). The movie features a voice acting cast including Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) as Raya, Awkwafina (Ocean's Eight) as Sisu, Gemma Chan (Captain Marvel) as Namaari, Daniel Dae Kim (Hawaii Five-0) as Chief Benja, Sandra Oh (Grey's Anatomy) as Virana, Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange) as Tong, newcomer Isaac Wang as Boun, Thalia Tran (Little) as Noi, Alan Tudyk (Firefly) as Tuk Tuk, Lucille Soong (Fresh Off the Boat) as Dang Hu, Patti Harrison (Shrill), and Ross Butler (13 Reasons Why).
