Telugu star Ravi Teja is eagerly awaiting the release of his upcoming movie, Eagle. Prior to its global release on Friday, he had the opportunity to view the movie's theatrical cut in a special preview and appears to be thoroughly pleased with the final edit. In a video circulating on the internet, Teja can be seen expressing his joy after watching the film, declaring, "I'm super satisfied," while shaking hands with director Karthik Gattamneni.
Karthik Gattamneni has established himself in the Telugu film industry as a cinematographer, having worked on major Telugu films such as Karthikeya and its sequel, Karthikeya 2. He made his directorial debut with Surya vs Surya in 2015 and has returned to direction with Eagle after an eight-year hiatus.
While Surya vs Surya failed to make an impact at the box office, it remains to be seen whether Eagle can propel his directorial career forward.
Eagle holds significance for both Ravi Teja and Karthik. Teja's career has faced a challenging phase with no major hits to his credit in the last few years. Many had hoped that his previous film, Tiger Nageswara Rao, would provide the much-needed breakthrough at the box office.
The big-budget period drama, Tiger Nageswara Rao, however, faced tough competition from other prominent releases. Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay's Leo and Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna's Bhagavanth Kesari overshadowed Tiger Nageswara Rao at the box office in the Telugu states.
Originally slated for release during the Sankranti holiday this year, Eagle's release was postponed to accommodate four other releases, including Guntur Kaaram, HanuMan, Saindhav, and Naa Saami Ranga.
With minimal competition at the box office, will Eagle manage to attract audiences to cinemas?
In Eagle, Ravi Teja portrays a feared assassin who appears to have gone into hiding for some unknown reason. Besides Teja, the film also features Anupama Parameswaran, Navdeep, Kavya Thapar, Srinivas Avasarala, and Madhoo.
