Vijay Antony's Raththam is gearing up for a release this Friday. The CS Amudhan directorial is the actor's fourth release this year after Tamilarasan, Pichaikkaran 2 and Kolai. Billed as a crime drama, the movie stars Mahima Nambiar, Ramya Nambeesan and Nandita Swetha, too, in notable roles.

The film was initially supposed to hit the screens on September 28, but the flurry of releases made the makers postpone its arrival by a week. The movie marks director Amudhan's third release after Tamizh Padam and Tamizh Padam 2.

Makers come up with an unexpected promo

Amudhan left everyone surprised with a new promo which he revealed on his social media page. It features Vijay Antony, who is drenched in rain, seen walking on a road and coming across Sathish who sports an appearance of his character in Tamizh Padam 2. The former expresses surprise at meeting the latter.

The latter tells him that Amudhan invited him to appear in the promo as part of ACU (Amudhan's Cinematic Universe), a term which got popular after Lokesh Kanagaraj's Vikram became a super hit. Sathish then takes an auto rickshaw which has Chetan sporting a cop's uniform as its driver. His unexpected appearance, too, is from Tamizh Padam 2.

Raththam to clash with three releases

Though the movie's release was postponed by a week to avert a clash with Chandramukhi 2, Chithha and Iraivan, the film is now clashing with a few other three releases. However, this time around, the other movies aren't as big as last week's releases.

Irugapatru, 800 and The Road are other Tamil releases that are hitting the screens on October 6. Raththam will be released in Telugu under the title Doshi.
