If speculations are to be believed, Kannada actor Pramod, known for his roles in films like Premiere Padmini and Rathnan Prapancha, will play a key role in the mega Hombale Films production, Salaar. Yes, as per the latest reports, Pramod is rumoured to be part of the ensemble cast of Prashanth Neel's pan-Indian magnum opus and he has already joined the sets of the film to shoot for his role.
The official confirmation, however, is yet to be made on the matter but the same reports suggest that Pramod will play a 'pivotal' role in Salaar. Also referred to as Pramod Panju, the young actor began his career in television and gained popularity through serials like Mahadevi and Sanju Matthu Naanu (as the main antagonist). His film career took off in 2017 with Geetha Bangle Store in which he played the leading man and soon after, he was seen in films like Premier Padmini (alongside Jaggesh), Matte Udbhava, and Rohit Padaki's Rathnan Prapancha (starring Dhananjaya).
Pramod also stars alongside Pruthvi Ambaar and Rachel David in Girish Moolimane's travel-based film titled Bhuvanam Gaganam.
Coming to Salaar, the film is primarily conceived as a Telugu-Kannada bilingual but will be mounted as a pan-India film. One of the most anticipated releases of 2023, Salaar makes its way out in theatres on September 28 - Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Easwari Rao, Madhu Guruswamy, and Sriya Reddy make up the central cast.
Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, who is currently riding high on the back-to-back successes of K.G.F: Chapter 2 and Rishab Shetty's Kantara, produces Salaar to mark his third collaboration with Prashanth Neel. Hombale, as a production house, is currently in the pursuit of diversifying its collaborations and has signed on filmmakers Prithviraj Sukumaran, Pawan Kumar, and Sudha Kongara to debut in Malayalam and Tamil film industries.
