The Girlfriend: Rashmika Mandanna to play title role in the Rahul Ravindran directorial

Rahul Ravindran is one of the most talented actors in Telugu cinema. He turned director with a romantic drama titled Chi La Sow and scored a super hit. But his second film with Nagarjuna, Manmadhudu 2 was a flop at the box office. 

After taking a long gap, he is now ready with his new film which was announced today. Rahul Ravindran has joined hands with mega producer Allu Aravind, Mass Movie Makers, and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment for a romantic drama titled The Girlfriend. 

Star heroine Rashmika Mandanna will be seen in a lead role in this film. A small teaser was also released which showcases Rashmika submerged underwater and giving different expressions related to love and pain.

The makers have announced that the shooting of this film will commence soon. In form music director, Hesham Abdul Wahab will be composing music for the film which will have camera work by Krishnan Vasant. The rest of the star cast and male lead have been kept a secret as of now.

Rahul Ravindran is known for his sensibilities in narrating dramas and by the looks of it, The Girlfriend will be more high on drama than romance. For Rashmika, this is a completely new avatar and the news is that Rahul has written a tailor-made role for her. 

As big names like Allu Aravind are behind this film, the production values and supporting cast will surely be special. The Girlfriend will have actors from the South. Watch this space for more updates on this project.
