Rashmika Mandanna's deepfake video recently shook the Internet. The origin of the video is traced to a British-Indian girl Zara Patel's Instagram handle. It featured Zara in the clip that was shared on her social media account. After Rashmika broke her silence on the matter, Patel penned her thoughts on the incident. She is deeply disturbed and upset with whatever happened.

However, Patel clarified that she had 'no involvement' with the deepfake video. "I’m deeply disturbed and upset by what is happening. I worry about the future of women and girls who now have to fear even more about putting themselves on social media. Please take a step back and fact-check what you see on the internet. Not everything on the internet is real (sic)," wrote Zara.

She added that she couldn't even imagine how she would have tackled the situation if it happened to her when she was in school or college. "We need to address this as a community and with urgency before more of us are affected by such identity theft," said Rashmika.

On the work front for Rashmika

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Rashmika will next be seen in Animal with Ranbir Kapoor. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 1. Also starring Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol, Animal will clash with Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur at the box office.
