During a recent interaction, Ranveer Singh discussed his character and drew a parallel between his on-screen and real-life personas ahead of the premiere of his film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar.
The actor explained to IANS that his life and Jayesh's life share some similarities. When one is faced with difficult circumstances, they think to themselves, "How am I going to overcome this to achieve what I want to achieve?" Ranveer shared that there's a certain amount of courage and fortitude that propels one forward, that one taps into in order to overcome all of the obstacles and adversities that get them to where they want to go, and they go about it as if their life depends on it.
The Simmba star continued, saying that he discovered that portraying Jayesh allowed him to draw on his life experiences. When the odds are stacked against one's life, they turn to the strength that love provides. It's Jayesh's love for his wife and daughter that drives him. Ranveer's love for his parents and his desire to make them proud by doing something has moved him forward in his life. The actor believes that both Jayeshbhai and he are unwitting heroes.
The film, directed by Divyang Thakkar, stars Ranveer Singh as the son of a traditional Gujarati sarpanch who believes in equal rights for men and women in society. Along with him, Jayeshbhai Jordaar also stars Shalini Pandey as his onscreen wife, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Boman Irani as his onscreen parents.
The film marks the directorial debut of Thakkar in Hindi, while Maneesh Sharma has produced the film under Aditya Chopra's home banner, Yash Raj Films. On May 13, 2022, the film will be released.
Ranveer's next big-screen release after Kabir Khan's 83, which premiered in December 2021, is Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The actor played the role of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev in the sports drama.
