Ranveer Singh on Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani: It's a quintessential and vintage Karan Johar film

Ranveer Singh addressed his forthcoming film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, revealing how extremely happy he was when Karan Johar offered him the opportunity.

In the interview with BollywoodLife, Ranveer gave a few details about his forthcoming movie, mentioning how this is completely a Karan Johar film. He stated, "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is a quintessential Karan Johar movie; it's vintage Karan Johar; everything that you love about his films – the songs, the glamour, the good-looking leads, the family dynamics, the pulpy drama, the humour, the romance, it's all packed in there; every trope you've seen in Karan Johar movies, his brand of cinema you have loved – all there."

Ranveer then proceeded, comparing Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani to Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, highlighting how long it's been since a film about family love has been released in theatres. The creator of the genre is returning, to which the actor added, "It's going to be his quirkiest, zaniest film, and it's shaping up so well, we're about 60% through with it. The movie is going to be amazing."

The film is directed by Karan Johar, who returns to the director's chair after a seven-year break. Johar directed the 2016 successful romantic drama film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani stars Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi, among others.

The romantic drama is a collaboration between Dharma Productions and Viacom 18 Studios. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is set to be released on February 10, 2023.
