Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha starrer Lootera completes eight years of its release today. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the romantic drama is hailed as a modern-day cult film today. Based on the 1907 short story The Last Leaf by O. Henry, Lootera revolves around a mastermind thief who presents himself as an archaeologist and robs the ancestral house of Sonakshi’s father among others. Years later, the duo meets again, while the survival of Sonakshi's on-screen character depends on the last leaf of a tree, Ranveer makes sure that the leaf doesn’t fall off the branch.
According to Hindustan Times, in the promotional event of Lootera, Ranveer revealed his unique look in the film and said that Vikram (the director) wanted a unique combination of James Dean and Dev Anand in his looks and performance. “I did not do anything, he (Vikram) knew the kind of look he wanted, the kind of hair he wanted. Every detail he looked into, so I really didn't give any input this time, it was all Vikram's,” the actor added.
Ranveer also mentioned that he was happy to get such a huge appreciation for his looks in the film, especially from the women. Meanwhile, Ranveer’s next, Jayeshbhai Jordaar opposite Shalini Pandey in her Hindi film debut is undergoing post-production while the actor is currently filming Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus. Cirkus also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde, Varun Sharma and Sanjay Mishra. Ranveer has also completed shooting for Sooryavanshi and 83, which may release soon.
