Sharmaji Namkeen, which released on Amazon Prime Video is Rishi Kapoor’s swan song

Rishi Kapoor’s final film, Sharmaji Namkeen, started streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Ranbir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoo’s son has now said that this is how his father would have liked to go.
Talking to PTI, Ranbir said that his father had only filmed for a few days before he was diagnosed with cancer. And when the actor flew into Delhi to take his father to the U.S for treatment, the veteran actor’s first reaction was, “ But what about the film? I need to finish it'.”
Ranbir said that the experience of Sharmaji Namkeen is close to the family and that his father would often think if he could ever work in other movies again or even finish Sharmaji Namkeen.
The Brahmastra actor also added that his father went back to the set after he was declared cancer free, but relapsed after a month of filming. “I think this is the way that he would have liked to go, working on a movie and not hanging his boots yet and doing it with passion," he said.
Directed by Hitesh Bhatia and bankrolled by Excel Entertainment and MacGuffin Pictures, the movie also stars Paresh Rawal, Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Isha Talwar, Sheeba Chaddha and Ayesha Raza among others, Rawal was roped in by the makers to play the late actor’s part and finish the film.
The movie, which comes as an emotional one for the family and fans of the late actor, started streaming on Amazon Prime Video on March 31. The movie has received positive reviews since its release.
