For his role as the main antagonist, Shuddh Singh, in Shamshera, Sanjay Dutt shaved off his head. The actor, during a recent interview with Mid Day, revealed that for him, donning a cropped hairdo signified giving up on his vanity. Moreover, Dutt has been an actor who made long hair look cool and macho for a male hero back in the 90s. In Shamshera, Ranbir Kapoor plays the lead role, and he is pitted against the Agneepath star.

During a group media interaction, Kapoor was quizzed if he has given up vanity for any of his roles and will be ready to do it in the future. To which the Brahmastra star stated, "Of course, I'm willing to do anything for a movie. As long as, as I said, you can not make a fool of the audience. So you have to have some sense of relatability to the character."

RK said, talking about the roles for which he took up a challenge, "But I think when I did Sanju, it was a character I was playing from the age of 21, all the way up to 50, so that was something which was very challenging for me. With Shamshera also, I play the characters of Shamshera and Balli. So yeah, this has been challenging in that sense also. I'm looking forward to more challenges."

Meanwhile, Kapoor will be back with a rom-com in Luv Ranjan's upcoming directorial, wherein he is paired opposite Shraddha Kapoor. The film's shoot was recently wrapped in Spain and is set for a 2023 release.

Amid that, RK also kickstarted Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, which shows him donning greyer shades. The film also features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. The shooting of the film is underway and is likely to hit the latter half of next year.
