Ranbir Kapoor is now embracing the success of his most recent movie, Brahmastra, which just came out. The Ayan Mukerji-directed movie has received mostly positive comments and, within one week, has already brought in Rs 300 crore globally.

Ranbir recently gave an interview to India Today in which he discussed the performance of Brahmastra and revealed that his late father, Rishi Kapoor, would have been thrilled to witness the box office results.

Ranbir mentioned in the interview that even Ayan Mukerji's work has received harsh criticism from his father. He continued, "But my father has always been a box office guy. He was always very respectful of the numbers and how the film fared at the ticket window. He knew that if the film did well at the box office, then perhaps I was wrong with my views. He knew that the audience was the king and there was no one above the box office. I think by seeing the collections of Brahmastra he would have been very happy, but he would still add, 'Let’s see how the second weekend fares'."

On the other hand, the movie is the first of a trilogy that will be the initial entry in a vast cinematic universe known as the Astraverse. Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus, and Starlight Pictures are the producers. For the first time, Ranbir and Alia Bhatt appeared together in Brahmastra. Insignificant parts in the Ayan-directed film were played by Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy. Shah Rukh Khan makes a cameo appearance in the movie as well.

On the work front, Ranbir will star in the film Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. While Parineeti Chopra was originally cast in the film, which also stars Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna stepped in when she left. Ranbir's next film appearance will be in an untitled production opposite Shraddha Kapoor and will be directed by Luv Ranjan.
