Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani re-release: Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's all-time favorite romantic comedy to hit theaters again on THIS date

2024 has been a year of several Bollywood movies re-releasing in theaters, bringing back the pure nostalgic moments. From Rockstar to Karan Arjun, fans once again got the opportunity to enjoy the evergreen movies with their friends, family, and partners in theaters. As the year is all set to bid adieu, Dharma Productions gifted fans with the news of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani's re-releasing in theaters in January 2025. 

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani re-release date announced

Finally one of the most popular Bollywood films, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is re-releasing in theaters. On December 27, Dharma Productions took to their official Instagram handle and shared a poster of the film to announce that it is again hitting theaters on January 3, 2025. 

They captioned the post, "We are all screaming because #YehJawaaniHaiDeewani is re-releasing on 3rd January! Save the date!"

Fans react to Dharma's post

Reacting to the good news, one fan wrote, "Koi jaaye na jaaye mai toh zaroor jaaungi." Another commented, "My soul movie is coming again!!!" A third fan said, "Bunny and gang is back!" 

Meanwhile, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is releasing on January 3, 2025, across 140 PVR INOX Cinemas in 46 cities. 

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani plot

It is a coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama that tells the story of the relationship between Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor) and Naina (Deepika Padukone). The story follows Bunny and Naina at two different points in their lives: when they are just out of college and when they meet again in their late twenties. The film explores how the two characters influence each other, befriend each other and eventually fall in love. 

The cast features Ranbir Kapoor as Kabir "Bunny" Thapar, Deepika Padukone as Dr. Naina Talwar, Aditya Roy Kapur as Avinash "Avi" Arora, one of Bunny's best friends, Kalki Koechlin as Aditi "Adi" Mehra, one of Bunny's best friends, and Kunaal Roy Kapur as Taran Khanna, the husband of Aditi. It also featured Farooq Sheikh who played the role of Ranbir's father in the film.

Expressing his excitement about Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani's re-release, Karan Johar said that the movie holds a special place in the heart of Dharma Productions. The film has great music, stunning locations, some of the most loved actors, and a story that resonates across all generations. 

"It's just the perfect film to start the new year. The film leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling about life. We can't wait to see how Gen Z feels about watching it as adults on the big screen while millennials join in, singing along and repeating all the dialogues before the actors do," he added.

On the other hand, the film's director Ayan Mukerji said that the movie feels like his second child, a part of his heart and soul. More than a decade later, he can confidently say that creating it was one of the greatest joys of his life.
