For Rana Naidu, controversies, casualties, and celebrities are no big issue. But what about his father? That's a totally different story! As the feuding father and son duo in the upcoming Netflix series Rana Naidu, two of India's biggest stars, Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati, will collaborate for the very first time. Rana Naidu, which is based on Ray Donovan, is set to premiere on March 10, 2023. Karan Anshuman is the creator, and Sunder Aaron and Locomotive Global are the producers. Suparn S. Varma and Karan Anshuman are the series' directors. Rana is the go-to celebrity fixer, and his next challenge is his father, Naga!
Venkatesh Daggubati gives a mind-blowing performance as Naga, a character who is strong and angry. He creates a multi-dimensional persona unlike anything he's ever done before, leaving you on the edge of your seat and wanting more. He does this with raw, unabashed energy. Venkatesh's portrayal of Naga is nothing short of fantastic; it's like a Hyderabadi tez dum ka chai—full of fun, lots of energy, and no tension!
Rana Daggubati talked about his first time working with his uncle and Netflix. He said that this project has taken a long time to finish and is different in many ways. It's not just his first time working with Netflix; his uncle Venky is also involved. Working on this project with Sunder, Karan, and Suparn has been a rewarding experience, and he is pleased with Rana Naidu's outcome. The entire cast and crew have worked extremely hard on the series, and he has no doubt that viewers will adore it.
He went on to say that the role of Rana Naidu was really difficult to play. He is a complex individual who has strong emotional ties to his family but also faces difficulties in his interactions with his father. In the midst of all this drama, Rana must also focus on his professional path and what it entails for him. The universe of Rana, Naga, and all in between is one he can't wait for everyone to discover.
Venkatesh Daggubati is overjoyed to have had the chance to collaborate with his cherished nephew on a project as thrilling as Rana Naidu for the first time. He has never encountered a character like Naga before, so portraying him is a whole new experience for him. With a humorous demeanour that contrasts sharply with Rana's more intense nature, Naga is a welcome diversion. This character has depth, charm, and wit. This is a first in many respects, so he is eager to hear what his fans have to say. Also, developing the series with this group of great directors and producers has been a very amazing experience for him.
Showrunner Karan Anshuman discussed the series, saying that they consider it an honour to be a part of this storytelling adventure, and he hopes the audience is as enthusiastic about Rana Naidu as they are. It was even more wonderful since Sunder, Suparn, and the rest of the team worked together so beautifully and seamlessly. The father-son connection, which is the series' central premise, is somewhat unusual, and it explores the issues of family, authority, and morality. But make no mistake, there is also high-stakes action and suspenseful drama, as well as some excellent writing and boundary-pushing performances. Get ready for a few major surprises.
The ensemble cast of the show, which stars Surveen Chawla, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Gaurav Chopra, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Rajesh Jais in pivotal parts, promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Rana Naidu will be available on Netflix from March 10, 2023, in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
