Ramayana: Nitesh Tiwari found his Sita in Alia Bhatt and Raavan in Yash for this Ranbir Kapoor starrer?

With blockbusters like Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR and Brahmastra, Alia Bhatt had a noteworthy year in 2022. She keeps proving with her outstanding performances on how hardworking she is. Alia is currently preparing for several projects. She was recently seen in the city following a meeting with the director Nitesh Tiwari, which may have been a sign of an upcoming collaboration.

As Alia Bhatt left RSVP's office after meeting filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari, she gave Nitesh a warm hug and said goodbye before getting into her car. Alia kept it summer-simple by wearing a floral pink kurta and palazzo pants. She accessorised with delicate jhumkas and minimum makeup look. 

However, the topic of discussion here is that Alia met the filmmaker as she joined the cast of the much-awaited film Ramayana. If reports are to be believed, Alia Bhatt is confirmed to play Sita in this Nitesh Tiwari epic where Ranbir plays the role of Lord Ram. Not just this, reports also suggest that KGF star Yash is in talks to play the role of Raavan in the film. A formal announcement is anticipated this Diwali.

A source told Pinkvilla, “Over the last few weeks, Ranbir Kapoor has been spotted visiting the DNEG office, to check on the progress of Ramayana. The pre-visualization of the world has already been done and the team is now doing look tests with Ranbir to play Lord Ram. The purpose of the visit has been to get the right look for Ranbir as on getting it right, he will then step into the physical transformation aspect.”

It added, “Alia was the first choice for Ramayana, but back in the day, the dates couldn’t match due to multiple reasons. But with all the delays, Nitesh and producer Madhu Mantena have gotten back to their first choice and the actress is excited to play a character that could stay with her for a lifetime. Same for Ranbir, who is charged up for this new divine journey of Shri Ram.”

Talking about Yash's role in the film, the source continued, “Yash is yet to sign the dotted lines, but Madhu is confident to have Yash on board the film. There are some minor issues, and once they are resolved, Nitesh and Madhu would have things on paper with Yash.”

Allu Aravind, Madhu Mantena, and Namit Malhotra will produce Ramayana, and Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyawar will serve as the film's director. The anticipated release date is December 2023 or January 2024.
