Ramanna Youth reviews out: Abhai Naveen's rural comedy draws praise from Telugu celebs

Pelli Choopulu, Geetha Govindam actor Abhai Naveen is leaving no stone unturned to promote Ramanna Youth, his first film as a director. The film is hitting screens on September 15, this Friday in theatres locking horns with two other major releases - Ravi Teja’s production Changure Bangaru Raja, Vishal-SJ Suryah starrer Mark Antony. The film’s pre-release event was held this Monday.

The political comedy, that unfolds amidst a rural backdrop, wrapped its censor formalities yesterday and was certified U/A by the board. Three days prior to its release, a special preview of the film was held in the city, which was graced by several Telugu film celebs and industry friends of Abhai Naveen. A glimpse of their responses was shared by the makers today.

Popular actor Shafi said he was surprised by Abhai’s transformation as a director with Ramanna Youth, claiming he adapted to the new role with ease. He was full of praise for his execution in the climax and said the story puts some much-needed spotlight on the realities of party workers. Noted journalist Prema called it a well-made, thought-provoking that’ll help people analyse their career choices.

Viewers felt the film represents the reality of the world, thoughts of youngsters and opined that Abhai conveyed his message with clarity. A spectator told the film helped him relive his younger days in a village, others felt it could connect with the youth and had all the ingredients to be a box office sensation. More previews of Ramanna Youth are expected to be organised in the coming days.

Vishnu Oi, Anil Geela, Amulya Reddy, Thagubothu Ramesh, Srikanth Iyengar, Jabardasth Rohini, Jagan Yogiraj, Bunny Abiraan, Anji Valguman, Manoj Muthyam, Yadama Raju, Vidyasagar Karampuri, Sai Mahesh, Bhaskar Manyam, Venu Polsani, Vishvendar Reddy, Anand Chakrapani, Dhanalakshmi, Mallesh Balsat form the supporting cast. Kamran is the music director of the film.
