The filmmaker shared the news in a long note, writing, “I am very pleased to announce that Man of the Match has been selected for the prestigious New York Independent Film Festival. The 14th Edition of the Festival of Cinema NYC will be taking place from June 13th to 19th and more than 200 Indie films will be showcased. The Movie critic, Lawrence Whitener, who saw the film took to Twitter to congratulate and said, ‘Absolutely brilliant Indian comedy I reviewed for the NYC Festival… I gave it a 10.’ Man of the Match is my third venture after Rama Rama Re and Ondalla Eradalla. The movie is produced by PRK productions in association with Satya and Mayura Pictures.”
Satya added, “The movie follows a director who calls for an audition and makes a movie out of it by creating conflicts between the artistes who attend the audition. This is a first-of-its-kind realistic commercial film in Kannada that has multiple characters and touches upon current social conflicts in a humorous and satirical way. The key cast includes Nataraj S Bhat and Dharmanna Kadur, who are both collaborating with me after Rama Rama Re. Veteran artistes Veena and Sunder also play their real-life selves in the movie, along with newcomers like Atharva Prakash and Mayuri Nataraj. The music is composed by Vasuki Vaibhav who also makes an appearance in the movie. The movie was released exclusively on Amazon on the May 5 and has garnered a lot of positive attention for its new and unique setting, performances of actors, and addressal of social issues in a subtle manner.I wanted to take this moment to thank you for all your support.”
