It's a well-known fact that most of our leading actors in Telugu cinema, from Chiranjeevi to Venkatesh to Mohan Babu to younger actors like Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun and Ram Pothineni spent their early years in Chennai, speak fluent Tamil. However, fans rarely get to see the Telugu stars talk in Tamil and when they do so, it's a delight to watch.
Actor Ram Pothineni, who is currently filming for his first Tamil-Telugu bilingual in his career directed by Lingusamy, surprised many when he conveyed his birthday wishes to composer Devi Sri Prasad in flawless Tamil for the latter's Tamil TV show Star to Rockstar. Here's what Ram Pothineni had to say about the much-celebrated singer, composer on the show.
"I met Devi Sri Prasad first during the music sittings of Jagadam in 2006. We've been great friends ever since. The best part about DSP is that he still has the same energy and passion for music as the first time we met. His passion has only multiplied manifold these years. It has consistently reflected in his work. We've worked in six films to date and the value that he had brought to those projects was immense. We are now collaborating on our seventh film and it's going to be even more special, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual directed by Lingusamy (sir). He has already composed a fantastic love song for the project. We are loving it and can't wait for you all to listen to it. Here's wishing you the best Devi (boy) and for your show Star to Rockstar," he added.
Some of Ram Pothineni-DSP's collaborations include Hello Guru Prema Kosame, Nenu Sailaja and Vunnadhi Okkate Zindagi. Meanwhile, Ram Pothineni's action film with Linguswamy also stars Krithi Shetty and veteran actress Nadhiya in key roles. Srinivasa Chitturi is producing the much-anticipated action saga which went on floors earlier this year.
The film's release date hasn't been announced yet. Ram's last release was for Sankranti 2020, Red, the Telugu remake of the Tamil hit Thadam. The film turned out to be a decent grosser at the theatres. Krithi Shetty has several projects in her kitty, from her untitled film with Mohanakrishna Indraganti to Shyam Singha Roy opposite Nani and Bangarraju with Naga Chaitanya.
