Actor Ram Kapoor recently left everyone surprised with his drastic physical transformation. Kapoor's impressive weight loss journey of losing 55 kgs in 18 months has inspired a lot of people. After hitting headlines for his fit avatar, Ram opened up about the challenges he faced while being overweight and what led him to get lean. Kapoor shared that he shed 55 kgs the old-fashioned way, without any surgery or external aids.

Ram Kapoor, best known for his stint in Bade Achche Lagte Hain, revealed he was 140 kgs while working on Neeyat and Jubilee. The actor admitted he was unhealthy and felt breathless after walking just '20 steps'. Ram revealed that he was diabetic, had a foot injury, and struggled with basic movement. Later, the actor realized that he could not go on forever like this.

"I have two children, and I felt the need to set a positive example for them by prioritizing my own health. Over the last six months, I pushed myself to shed 55 kgs, bringing me down to 85 kgs. The transformation is deeply personal," Ram told ETimes.

The actor revealed that he lost weight by changing his lifestyle, habits, and his mindset. Having said that, Ram feels there's nothing wrong with medical options if they help someone. "For me, it was about a complete mental and physical reset," added Kapoor.

In the same conversation, Ram spoke about the challenges of losing weight in his 50s. "It's definitely harder. I realized this had to be a lifelong change, not a temporary fix. It's not about following a diet for a few months; it's about changing who you are as a person. This time, I didn't focus on quick results or just willpower," mentioned Ram. 

The actor shared that he focuses on his eating and sleeping habits, exercise routine, and fasting intervals. According to Kapoor, fitness is not about 'the number on the scale'; it is about feeling strong, energetic, and healthy.
