Ram Gopal Varma has never minced his words in putting forward his opinion about anything. The filmmaker, in his prime, has given Indian cinema some of the most cult classic movies that became the Bibles for a lot of filmmakers to follow. One such movie that changed the course of content in Hindi cinema was his cult film Satya, which stars Manoj Bajpayee and JD Chakravarthy in the lead. The film has a massive fan following, and they would not appreciate anyone daring to remake it. But now, if Ram Gopal Varma himself is to be believed, he feels that if there is any filmmaker who can remake Satya, it is Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

The well-renowned director, known for redefining Indian cinema, Ram Gopal Varma, recently featured in Komal Nahta’s Game Changers podcast. In the podcast, the filmmaker shed light on his journey from being an engineer to becoming a director, his transition from Telugu cinema to Bollywood, and many other aspects of his career.
In the rapid-fire round, Ram Gopal Varma was asked: "If Sandeep Reddy Vanga were to direct one of your films, which one would it be?"
The filmmaker swiftly replied, naming his classic: Satya. The 1998 film changed the landscape of Indian cinema and inspired a generation of filmmakers. One of the filmmakers who was inspired by it is Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Vanga has been very vocal about the impact Satya had on him while growing up and has even said that it is one of his favourite films.
In the podcast, Ram Gopal Varma also spoke at length about the use of sound in his films, his love for experimentation and trying different genres, and how Satya was a game-changing moment for him as a filmmaker.
