From neighbours to friends
In a number of interviews, Rakul had acknowledged that the two had been living next to each other for years, without ever speaking to one another. The actress also revealed that the Covid lockdown in 2020 helped them to get close and they got to know each other after multiple meetings.
"I think it was very organic. We started hanging together and then a couple of months down the line like 2-3 months, 4 months we were just hanging and without any facade of who we are. And the coincidence was we were almost neighbours and we didn't even know,” she said.
Public announcement
It was a year after their first meeting that the couple publicly announced their relationship. The actress revealed her partner on her birthday, October 10, 2021. She had written while sharing a photo, “Thankyouuuu my love! You have been my biggest gift this year! In another interview, Rakul had spoken about the mantra for having a successful relationship. Rakul said that it is very important to be complete in yourself. She said that if one partner is insecure in a relationship then the equation never works. Rakul stated, “If one of the partners is insecure, the relationship cannot be healthy. And it boils down to being complete in yourself as a person to be able to be more giving in a relationship."
