Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A, the first of director Hemanth M Rao’s two-part love story came to OTT within 30 days of its theatrical outing. That, as it turns out, was because Sapta Sagaradaache Ello was started as a single film project as a Pushkar Films production, which eventually Rakshit Shetty’s Paramvah Studios took over and then became two movies. Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah had sold the digital rights of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello to Amazon Prime Video even before it was made, so, Rakshit and Hemanth were obligated to honour that agreement and put Side A on the platform as per the initial agreement.

At the time of the release of Side B, though, Rakshit had said that he had not finalised the digital sale and that he was weighing his options, even though, Prime would be the best bet for audiences to catch both films. He had hinted at looking at options within Prime too, like, for instance, putting it on the store for rent only, as he has with 777 Charlie’s other language versions. While Rakshit or Amazon have not confirmed anything about Side B yet, reports have emerged that the film will be on the streamer shortly. December 22 is being said as the date when it will be on the platform, as against the earlier speculated December 15.

Meanwhile, sources say that the satellite rights of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A and B have been picked up by Zee Network, and there are whispers that Side B could land on Zee5 Kannada after all. If the deal for Side A is not exclusive and the film ceases to be on the platform after 6 months, the possibility of another platform picking it up is also likely. Prime has, in recent days, not been very pro-active in picking Kannada content and even those titles that end up on the platform make it on hybrid deals for a limited period only. Like, for instance, Orchestra, Mysuru!, which was on Prime for 6 months only, Vijay Raghavendra’s Raaghu is also not on the platform anymore, while Daredevil Musthafa is on the way out.
