Actor Rajkummar Rao has opened up about nepotism in the film industry saying that it 'will always be there'. In a new interview, Rajkummar also said that though nepotism exists there are also many opportunities in the industry. He spoke about his friends and classmates like Jaideep Ahlawat and Pratik Gandhi, who are getting recognition on OTT platforms. “Nepotism will always be there, but now there are many opportunities. I have friends who were my classmates but are getting recognition now, thanks to OTT platforms. Like Jaideep (Ahlawat) who did so well in Pataal Lok and Pratik (Gandhi) in Scam 1992. Nepotism will be there, but your work and talent will speak,” he said.
Earlier, at a press conference to promote his film hit, Rajkummar said, “This is our first city and what better than being in the city of joy. Our whole team has put in their best efforts and created this magical story. Sailesh Kolanu is an amazing director. He absolutely brought the best out of Sanya and me. With every film I do, I want people to watch it and love it. I have watched this film and I have personally loved it. I am sure with word of mouth people will know more about this film and go and experience this thrilling experience in theatres” the actor said.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Dil Raju, Krishan Kumar, and Kuldeep Rathore, HIT: The First Case will hit the theatre on July 15.
