Rajkummar Rao and Medha Shankr roped in for Maalik

According to the sources by Mid-day, Rajkummar liked the script and gave a nod for the project and the movie is expected to roll in September. Medha Shankr, who made her Bollywood debut with the critically acclaimed film '12th Fail' co-starring Vikrant Massey is roped in for the project. As per the reports, the script of the film demanded an intelligent, soft, and sensitive actor that goes well with Rajkummar's character in the film. Hence Medha is a perfect match for the project.

The source further tells the portal that Rao has not yet explored the action side of his career and has not starred in a massy film yet and with his next film, he wants to explore this space. "When Jay and Pulkit approached him for Maalik, Raj immediately gave his nod as the film will present him in a new avatar. It’s an emotion-driven, action entertainer that will see the actor performing high-octane stunts. He has begun working on his physique as the role demands a muscular frame," the source revealed.

The film is said to be an emotion-driven action entertainer that will showcase Rajkummar in high-octane stunts. This will be the first time where we will watch the Omerta actor kicking some asses.

Maalik will go on floors in Lucknow in September and then will also be shot in Benares over a three-month start-to-finish schedule.
